Privacy Policy

Effective: August 15, 2026. MeoW OCR is operated by UenStudio, an independent developer based in Vietnam.

What MeoW processes

MeoW needs screen text to perform OCR and translation. Local OCR processes the selected region on your device. Cloud OCR sends the selected scan region to our service. Translation currently requires internet access and sends recognized text to translation services.

Optional Visual Analysis

Visual Analysis can improve context-aware translation. Before anything is sent, MeoW shows a preview and lets you choose whether to share only a selected region or the full selected window or screen. This feature is optional.

Product improvement data

An in-app setting controls whether anonymized usage and translation data may be used to improve quality, speed, reliability, and cost efficiency. When this setting is enabled, selected improvement data is retained for less than 30 days. Turning it off stops new optional improvement data from being collected.

Accounts and telemetry

Core OCR and standard translation do not require an account. AI translation in v5.x requires sign-in. We collect the minimum account and operational information needed to provide, secure, troubleshoot, and improve the service. Anonymous product analytics may include app version, feature usage, performance, device or operating-system category, and error information. We use PostHog for product analytics.

Payments

If paid features are introduced, payment details will be handled by the payment provider or app store shown at checkout. UenStudio does not intend to store full payment-card numbers. We will update this policy before materially changing how payment or billing data is handled.

Sharing and security

We use service providers for hosting, analytics, OCR, translation, AI processing, authentication, support, and—if introduced—payments. We share only the information reasonably needed for those services. We do not sell personal information or use it for third-party advertising. We apply reasonable technical and organizational safeguards, but no online service can promise absolute security.

Your choices

You can choose Local or Cloud OCR, turn optional improvement sharing off, control the visual area sent for Visual Analysis, and stop using cloud features. Where applicable, you may request access, correction, or deletion of personal information by contacting us.

Privacy questions can be sent to support@meowocr.com. We may update this policy as MeoW adds offline translation, payments, stores, or other features. Material changes will be communicated through the app or website.
